Hate to bring this up

With this place on a traffic hiatus, What other platform do you all use??

Im a reddit guy, lots of reading there although not chatty/posting much. There are other sites like fb (ugh) and .. discord.. twitter.. quora .. and much more.

For me reddit's cool when you get real answers but theres a lot of jokers there and a lot to scroll forward.

Really the only thing i can tell is different with elon in charge: more intrusive ads, and making it so you can buy tweet visibility in a very sneaky way.

If it wasn't that there are smart people on there worth following inwould not use it.

allow me to correct myself, i mean to say twitter was not something i bothered with until the hype with elon.. the media really made him out to look like a bad guy.. anyways.. so i checked out twitter.. as a non user, doesnt seem much different from other platforms.

I think ADs are always gonna weasle their way in what not.

He was controversial because of his approach to content moderatation. Honestly i have barely noticed anything that wise and it wouldn't effect my experience because of how i use twitter.

I don't know that much about Elon. I will give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he is very smart about engineering and maybe also smart about some business stuff (but not that smart, as buying twitter was such an obviously bad investment for himself that he made at precisely the wrong time just-to-be-a-legend).

But i hate how he changed how the verified thing works, its dumb. If he wanted to let people buy twitter visibility, fine, but don't make it the blue checkmark, he should have made it something different.

Twitter always had ads but now you are seeing them more frequently and even in the middle of threads which didn't used to happen.

Reddit, tumblr, Instagram, YouTube. Yeah, I like reddit, but I don't follow too many large sub's. I like how every community is a little different. I love seeing the exercise of, "If you want something done right, do it yourself," in the form of making different subreddits.

I like being able to have different accounts on the platform, within my own. I'll raise my hand for being one to use an ad-blocker, and the frustration of them doesn't wreck my nerves.

I get what you mean. I use Twitter to keep-up with businesses, musicians, politicians, authors. I mainly made one to contact a favorite author of mine in-regard to privately printing some of her artwork. I couldn't believe that I got a message back! It was wild. This was back in 2015. Any posts I make are due to social-media convenience or the general malaise.

I use nextdoor more than facebook. Quite a few karen's on there from time to time but thats what makes it entertaining.

lol i did try that one out for a time.. they do help with utility service advice tho it never really caught on for me. gonna check in again right now ! lol
