Name three things you'd like the new US government to do.

I suppose I should start off.

1. A national, efficient, well functioning healthcare system would be nice.
2. Massive green energy investment, like solar panel farms and wind turbines.
3. National laws concerning the prohibition of specific police tactics (like chokeholds) and better training for police officers. As well as investment in a civilian division of the police that would answer calls that do not require officers with guns.

I hope those things because I think that is what most people who voted for the incoming President want. I think it is important for government officials to respect the mandate that brought them to power.

Something I think most Americans can agree on is the legalization of cannabis. At least in terms of revoking any national laws against it. It could easily be a state issue, yes?

quite true.. these are different times..

Actually another take that I just heard which makes sense to me is that the only reason why the race hasn't been called for Biden yet is because of Trump.

PA is the state that makes it kinda of a done deal. Trump is currently "ahead" but the remaining counties to be counted are so proportionately Democrat it's basically impossible that Biden won't make up the ground he needs to win.

But it's the last state. And Trump has an (illusory) lead.

And the President is saying that the votes are fraudulent.

If it was called now, while Trump was still ahead, there would be a backlash saying that the media was trying to steal the election, and it's likely the so-called President would stoke that backlash as much as he could. So they have to play games.

im appreciating your shared information.. but u know .. i sorta lost interest after i found out they're gonna drag this on.. till its officially official

It's not so much intentional "Dragging on" as much as a natural part of the process because many states have laws against counting mail-in or early vote ballots before Election Day.

There is some controversy about the AP calling Arizona so early. Trump is unlikely to win the state at this point but it is far from impossible.

And its clear at this point that Trump will lose NV.

That means that the national race should be callable if you have called AZ.

But now we're in a foolish situation where the AP is reluctant to call NV because the state they already called, AZ is the actual state in doubt.

In other words the Associated Press called AZ too early so now they either have to uncall it or take a chance and declare Biden the winner.

Just dumb media stuff for you.

As results have trickled in throughout the day, Trump's odds odds of winning are smaller. He has gained some ground in AZ but still more than likely to lose. NV is approaching callable for Biden. That is all Biden needs for the win.

Additionally, Trump is in danger of losing in Georgia. He is less than a percentage point up and that margin is shrinking with each round of ballots that comes in.

And the overarching fact is that, as mail-ins are counted in PA, Biden is more than likely to pull ahead. And he can lose everything else if he wins PA.

I was thinking your mail in vote won't count because someone will throw it away. Or maybe it will be counted twice depending upon who is doing the counting. I don't trust this whole mail in idea.

Did you have an opinion about it two years ago? Because i didn't and it has literally been around for over 100 years and its only this election cycle im hearing people having a problem with it.

Ballots don't get counted twice. You would need the board of elections people openly committing fraud for that to happen, meaning there would have to be a large local conspiracy to make that happen where supervisors and the peole under them would have to agree to break laws.

The more reasonable possibility is people voting for other people, like me mailing in a ballot with your info..but I would have to have some way of getting that info. And then i'd have to get that info for thousands of other people, against their will, in order for it to even have a small chance of making a small difference on the election. Risking huge fines and jail time in the process.

I'm more worried about people's mail in ballot getting thrown out because they did something wrong and not having enough time to fix it.
